Germany's dioxin problems deepened Wednesday as China banned pork and egg imports ....., adding to pressure on Berlin's embattled agriculture minister.

A day after authorities ordered the slaughter of 140 pigs at a German farm following the discovery of dangerous dioxin levels in pork for the first time since a scare began last week, China said its ban was effective immediately.

It outlawed imports of "German-produced edible pork and egg products," China's product safety watchdog said. Inspections were planned on goods imported from Germany before Tuesday.

..........all incoming pork and pork products from Germany would be held for examination and only released onto the market if food safety officials were satisfied they (pork & eggs) were safe to eat.

According to government figures, from January - November 2010, Hong Kong imported about 148,000 tonnes of pork (and all other pork - based products) from Germany, accounting for about 20 % of the city's pork imports.

Previously only South Korea had banned German pork imports, despite Berlin's repeated assurance there was no immediate risk to human health. Slovakia on Wednesday lifted a halt on sales of German eggs and poultry meat.

The scare began last week when it emerged that a German firm may have supplied some 3,000 tonnes of fatty acids only meant for industrial uses to makers of animal feed late last year. The feed was then widely distributed.

There are also indications that the firm, Harles und Jentzsch, has been selling the contaminated fatty acids since last March, a Schleswig-Holstein agriculture ministry spokesman told Westfalen-Blatt daily.

The company, which is under criminal investigation, filed for insolvency Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the regional court in the western town of Itzehoe said.

With eggs found to have high levels of dioxin, which can cause cancer in high doses, authorities destroyed 100,000 eggs last week and banned almost 5,000 poultry and pigs farms from selling produce while tests were conducted.

Most of these farms have been since been given the all-clear, with just 412 still subject to the lockdown as of Wednesday, according to the agriculture ministry. Only three chickens were confirmed to be contaminated.

But on Tuesday authorities said that pork with high levels of dioxin had been discovered at a farm in the state of Lower Saxony, and that meat from pigs from the farm slaughtered before it was banned from selling could be in shops.

The FAZ also reported that although many farms are seeing restrictions lifted, more and more are being closed including 95 in North Rhine-Westphalia on Monday alone.

The German government said previously that none of the up to 150,000 tonnes of suspect animal feed had been exported, but the European Commission said this week that some had in fact made it to Denmark and France.

Around 136,000 eggs meanwhile were exported to the Netherlands, some of which ended up in Britain.

Public trust in Germany has also been shaken, with demand for organic eggs, unaffected by the scare, shooting up, according to experts and shopkeepers. Anecdotal evidence suggests that sales of organic meat are also on the rise.

The scare has put Germany's agriculture minister under pressure, with Renate Kuenast from the opposition Greens, herself a former agriculture minister, calling for her departure.

"Consumer protection in Germany needs a new start -- and that can't happen with Ilse Aigner," Kuenast said. "She is incapable, she is unwilling."

But Aigner on Wednesday defended herself, saying that she was working on an "action plan" to be discussed with agriculture ministers from Germany's 16 states next week before briefing EU officials in Brussels on January 24.

"This dioxin case will not be without consequences," she told reporters.

At Last!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!!!!

Oh wait!!!! Chinese New Year is around the corner too!!! ......hmm approximately 25 days left; which gives us around 3 weeks and 4 days left to do the cleaning and last-minute shopping!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ~~~

Well, frankly speaking I'm not into CNY mood yet as my semester 2, 2010 result will be out pretty soon in about a week and 2 days time T.T I suppose my mood will only kick in by then, meaning to say I'll just have to wait and see the outcome. Speaking of holidays, I've been rotting myself for quite sometime; urrm......since 14/12/2010, letting wild or imaginary mushrooms growing on me; neither could you physically see, touch or feel it, nor could it be cooked or fried on a hot saucepan. I'm just lazying around....get it? My daily routine revolves around meanngless activities which includes signing onto facebook, you tube, University site - BB and my student webmail, hotmail, gmail, yahoo mail and the list goes on and on which also includes TVB deamas my brother brought back during his summer holidays last year. For those of you who knew me personally, I did mention about getting a part time job a couple of times since 2008......and till now, the "working experiences" section remains empty in my resume =P

Okay, this is my last and final decision. I will start off with an internship training by the end of this year. Meaning to say, I'll start browsing through the net for pron stuff before the end of my 2nd semester this year! Oh wait!!!! did I say porn stuff???? kidding la.......I'm referring to a suitable company for God sake I'm innocent okay =P Why this year?....It's also partly due to convenience and partly due to the purpose of gaining a proper working experience before joining the workforce.

Oh!.....and guys I break my own personal record for leaving my blog dead for the longest time!!!!! My last entry was like " last published on Sep 26, 2010" as showned on my dashboard......

Today is definitely not my day. A very bad day indeed is the 25th of September 2010 for me and my family in certain ways of course. Let's recap shall we?

My day started off quite bad. I woke up around 11.30AM (of course after my dad shouted my name several times that I realize I'd overslept). Great! my plan to revise through my work for the week failled. From my own bedroom I drag myself downstairs just to receive a very bad news from my dad that our cat had died due to some idiot knocked it down earlier in the morning. Without wasting much time, I quickly clean up myself and went out to check the lifeless body of our cat lying motionless by the roadside. I just couldn't describe how I felt at that moment; a mix feeling of sadness and calm just ran through me. I walked back home and later went out again. This time, I brought my sister together just to take another glimpse at our dead cat. Immediately at that point, I told my sis we'd loss another cat. Previously there's another cat of ours being knocked down by a car too. That cat had been with us since 2005 till 2009 when it met its tragic end. While the current one only accompanied us for 6 months - although it's just a matter of half a year, that period brings alot of good memories between my family and the cat itself. I do admit I don't treat him (the cat) well at times by disturbing him around, but I like his presence around the house.

After knowing our cat's death, all of us just carried on our own activities for the day with a sour face for the whole day. I can't even concentrate and just felt very much demotivated. In other words, I don't even touch any of my thich freaking books to revise or even attempt any of my tutorial questions.

As night sets in, I log into my facebook account and made a post regarding my cat's death. At the same time, I saw an album posted by my cousin. She graduated! Congratulations to her for being a Certified Accounting Technician now. Immediately, I felt pretty sad. My parents knew about the good news but one statement came out of thin air by my mum - "your cousin is going to graduate sooner than you once she started her ACCA programme" Darn! that definitely hit me hard. I was suppose to finish my studies by Dec 2011 and graduate by mid 2012! But due to my stupidity, procrastination, and ignorance, I got postponed for another year! Apparenty I'm suppose to graduate sooner than her but now......It's all too late. I was so stress, sad and depressed to hear that but it's the truth and nothing hurts more than the truth as truth speaks for itself.................................

I HATE MYSELF SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!

Sounds unbelievable? yes it's The Eye other than good dress or evening gown to suit their good body figure, it's the eye which ladies would normally pay attention too! Otherwise, why would they pay lots of money on make ups and other cosmetic products just to apply it on their eye to make it obvious and most importantly - attractive....

Anyways, a couple of months ago I was basically following my family to watch The Rachael Ray Show on ntv7 and for those of you who did watch this show would know what the show is all about - food, entertainment....etc On that day itself, Rachael introduced a new beauty product in store for ladies who wishes to have longer eyelashes! YES!!! LONGER EYELASHES!!!!

The product is - Lumigan

The product itself might sound common for those who are in the medical field (eye speacilists, optometrists....etc) as well as those who are on Glaocoma treatment like me..... Well, I'll talk more on Glaocoma in my later posts and how I live with suffering having one eye blind and living with only one good eye, going multiple surgeries and needling in Klang, Selangor - done by a well known eye specialists who had done multiple glaocoma surgeries; as well as in singapore. Back to this, Lumigan has yet to be approved and not to worry, the Lumigan used for beauty purposes has a different pakcaging compared to those produced for medical purposes and certainly, which i hope and persumed, the contents used are slightly different in both types of Lumigan depending on its initial purpose or usage.

Restaurant Fruit Juices - A Reality

Greetings,

Aha!, I'm back again in my very own blog which appears to be deserted - again. My apologies for those who are willing enough to visit my blog once a day just to check on post updates (stalking me? =P) which had been the same for several weeks already. The reason for my unexplainable disappearence in the blogging world for quite some time is because I was busy preparing for my mid term examination which had just ended last night at exactly 8.10PM (Malaysian time). unbelievable eyh?..... you didn't read wrongly....my exam was conducted during the evening! HAHA. Yes, having an exam around 6PM or so is truely tiring and you can just imagine how many studens showed up with a sour face signifying the "WTH don't mess with me - I'm tired!!!" face.

Anyways, the exam mode is over and now I'm free for at least a week or so - IT'S MID SEM BREAK! WOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okays, back into my main purpose of blogging this particualr post. Just a few days ago.... errm probably around Thursday, I decided to order a glass of papaya juice for lunch to accompany my steam chicken rice at the open air cafeteria of my uni. Well, first look at the juice was rather disappointing. Why would I say that after ordering the same juice several time from the same stall....why would I only fell disappointed now? I'll give you several reasons for this and I bet some of my reasoning would surely happen to anyone of you guys out there!

First, when I first ordered papaya juice from that exact same stall last year, the taukey himself blends the jice and serve us the drink. Now, that taukey only record each prchase and order of drinks by his customer and let the laki worker of his to do the serving and blending of the fruit juice. OH WAIT~~~~~~~ he no longer serve us directly by sending the drinks right to our table, it's now self service. Meaning ~ we take our drinks ourself!

Second, I'm okay with the self service thingy. But, this one would drive you nuts! that stupid lakia worker added too much milk onto the fruit juice making it more milkier....... wanna kill us is it? do they know we'll get cancer easier with higher intake of sweet stuff or even diabetes? I could just ee one thck layer of milk on top of the glass when I took it over to my table that day.

Third or should I say lastly?, the juice contains more water than the fruit fibre! what is wrog with that lakia worker? I practically drank more water than fibre this time and the taste of papaya aint that obvious anymore! So, looking back on those three reasons I'd mention, don't you think that some restaurants and cafes or even stalls do the same old thing? I think most of them did the same and if you dare say "cutting down on expenses" is the reason behind - by adding more water and less fruits being blended, why don't you guys cut down on the milk instead first? wouldn't that save you guys alot?

That's the papaya fruit juice I drank that day! See how milky it is =(

3rd posts of the day!,

Okay, I might be freaking crazy to post up 3 entries today! But, I've decided to make it a point to at least post something up on a more regular basis - which means, Friday will be an appropriate day for me to carry out my duty as a blogger. Other days might be an alternative option, but I guess Friday would just fit in nicely.

Returning to the topic of this post.

The 10 commandments I'm referring to does not in any way relate any religious issues or dicussions. Neither am I going to talk about issues with regards to any religion, nor am I going to discuss any of it in the future so please take not of this before suing me!

Okay, the 10 commandments here is more a less the 10 etiquette my law tutor expects from my group. Sounds odd? Well, you better believe it! In simple words, I guess I'll just summarize all her expectations from us throughout this semester -

Thou shall not come let to class
Thou shall not talk when I talk
Thou shall not use your handphone when I;m teaching; If it's branded and new, I'll confisticate it; handphones/IPhones confisticated shall be mine
Thou should bring the coureboo aka the textbook to class
-Bringing textbook's to class with no writting pad - Get out of class
No pen; or at any point of time when I discuss the answer, get out off my class
Thou shall not leave or enter my class at any time when I teach; you wanna go to toilet?....go before or after my class

AND

I expects 100% passes from all my students!

So that's basically what my tutor expects from us. Sounds stressful, but I find that she's kinda cool. At least she's a good tutor who explains pretty well. The problem is just the burden that she puts us through! But, she's not too bad too. At least she crack jokes in between her lesson right?

Anyways, hope I can pass this subject under her this semeste!

Swinging back to action!

Hello Readers!

My blog is now back into action with a brand new look! Some adjustments has been made to the previous layout setting and also the combination of colours has change. I'm definitely going to try my very best to keep you guys out tere in the cyber world entertained!

So to begin my first post in this new appearance for this blog which will only be uploaded starting tomorrow, let me further clarify that this blog will mostly feature bits of pieces of my thoughts shared with fellow readers.
